Ah yes!! We do a 30 minute version of this every evening after dinner that we call the Clean Sweep! It really does lighten the load and reset the home for the next morning
Yes that’s a perfect way to end the evening! We call ours the 10-minute tidy…short and sweet but we work fast and make it easier to enter into the next day! Glad you’ve found the same!
I love this idea! My kids are not super cooperative with helping clean (ages 8, 6 and newly 5 and 1) so the movie would work as great motivation as we are very low screen also. Do you actually get to all these tasks in an hour? That would be amazing, but I feel like even with my kids helping, we’d maybe get half of it done!
If everyone comes with good attitudes, we actually do get them all done! I usually end up finishing the mopping of the floors while they’re watching their movie since it’s easier to avoid kids on wet floors, but otherwise we only try to take on what is actually manageable and leave the deeper cleaning/organizing for other days. Give it a try!
I love the idea of doing this on Friday so that as you said, your weekend can be more relaxed. I tried doing this on Saturday mornings but then the kids had activities and it ended up being just me doing all of it but I think the kids need to be a part of it too and the buy in will be the game changer. Also, I loooove that you included the car!
Yes I agree that Saturday mornings (which I tried to do years ago with my kids) just aren’t sustainable as they get older and more involved! And yes, the car could be cleaned daily with my messy kiddos ; ) I hope it’s successful for you!
