Yes, I love the decluttering idea especially! We live in the state of Washington and it is so dark all winter, it is hard to keep spirits up.

Oh yes I’m sure! I need sunshine at least a few times a week! But thankfully there’s other things we can do to help us through winter until spring finally arrives : )

My wife's birthday is in January and feels the same way! And we are struggling with the cold weather right now with our three kids, so this is very helpful!

Yes it can be a rough month! But thankfully there’s ways to still have fun and enjoy it until the weather warms up. Happy birthday to your wife!

Hi Mollie,

I don't know WHEN IN January your birthday is, but Happy Birthday to you anyway. I HOPE you get to do SOMETHING special🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊 When my brother's and I were growing up; my Mom would ALWAYS do a DEEP organizing crusade at our house😉🙂😁🤣 We would go through old clothes and other stuff. I did a deep dive declutter of my clothes late summer/early Fall. It sure felt good to get that accomplished👍👍👍 We ALWAYS eat soups and stews this time of year too😉

Great post, thanks for sharing👍

Bethany

Thanks Bethany! Yes a good deep declutter is always so refreshing! Glad that habit has stuck with you since you were younger. And yes to all the soups and stews over the colder months! My husband gets tired of the excessive amount of them I make haha.

Love these Mollie, hosting is a favorite of mine!!

I also have a birthday in January, so happy birthday 🎈

February is the hard month for me when winter just won't go away 😔

Would love to hear your thoughts about life with older kids and a newborn. I have a hard time doing adventures with the baby due to the constant sleep and eat routines

Thanks Tanya, and happy birthday to you as well! The juggle between a newborn’s schedule/needs and wanting to be adventurous is definitely hard, and will once again come to surface in a few months when we have our next baby (there’s a 10 year age gap between my oldest and youngest) so I’m right there with you! We’ve always told our older kids that they need to be flexible with the family’s needs and not always expect to be treated like other kids who don’t have younger siblings. It's do hope to be a bit more go-with-the-flow with this next baby ; ) Would love to hear your tips as well!

We do similar with focusing on the family over individuals, but I go back and forth so much on what to do in this area.

I’ve had to just do a lot of carrier naps and be okay with the short naps etc

Yes thank God for carrier and stroller naps! Being flexible and okay with an off schedule is a test of submission for me that is healthy and freeing ; )

Totally saving your decluttering chart! Thank you so much for sharing it!

I’ve been knee deep in declutterring (I’m a recovering hoarder who grew up with extremely sentimental hoarders) so it’s been quite the challenge to shed those habits, but oh my how it feels refreshing to have a simplified home with less visual noise!

Winter is the perfect time for indoor-home projects for sure!

Yes feel free to use it! I’ll likely do an upcoming post on my decluttering tips and then include it as a PDF or resource : ) Happy decluttering!

I love this list! I’ll definitely be adding a winter bucket list for my family to come up with together and getting outside more often as we all need it! Last year we hosted a SOUPerbowl party where everyone brought a soup and we all tasted and voted on our favorite. We’re doing that again this year and are already looking forward to it!

Do you have a download for your declutterring your home chart? That is something I know I need!

Oh I love your SOUPerbowl party idea! That’s exactly the kind of simple fun winter needs more of. I made that decluttering chart on my husband and my other blog, but maybe I’ll share it on here too!
