Yes that’s great to do even with kids who aren’t homeschooled! Such a fun way to see how they change over the years. Glad you enjoyed reading it! I was a former teacher as well and soak in all the first day and holiday traditions that I once loved with my class : ) Hope your kids have a great school year!
These are so special! Over here, I leave a special note in the kids' playhouse mailbox, and sometimes we have special food. (The goal was Thunder Cake this year, but that did not successfully happen on the first day this year. Maybe later!)
Oh so fun! I love little handwritten notes and should do them more often! I’ve never made Thunder Cake but am always curious about the taste…doesn’t it use tomatoes??

So fun! We walk to the local bakery & they pick out a great to bring home. They enjoy it over our morning read alouds ❤️

It does require tomatoes! But the cake turns out delicious, no tomato flavor recognizable.
Agreed! The other flavors mask the tomatoes! Love the book, Thunder Cake too!
